01. the mun:

Hi, my name is MARS! I’m an eby trans guy and my pronouns are he / him. I’m 25+ and I’ve been roleplaying on tumblr for 10+ years, so these are a bit long and probably a little harsh in some places, but—I PROMISE that I'm friendly, chill and I'm just here to have a good time.This is a PRIVATE and HIGHLY SELECTIVE multimuse roleplay blog for both original characters and canons. I work 32 HOURS A WEEK and I have 70+ ( I wish I was exaggerating but I Am Not lol ) year round allergies that cause A LOT of chronic issues; inflammation / pain, sinus issues, fatigue and brain fog. So I'm forced to be picky and I AM NOT FAST.
I prioritize those I vibe the best with / have the most muse for and honestly, I'm doing the best I can, you know? If we're going to be writing together, patience, compassion and understanding is a must. I work WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, so my off days are SUNDAY, MONDAY AND TUESDAY, which tend to be when I'm the most active on the dash. I divide my writing between tumblr and discord as well.

02. age restrictions / triggering content:

I WILL NOT WRITE WITH ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18. I'm well over 25 and that power dynamic is unbalanced and uncomfortable tbh. I ALSO WILL NOT WRITE SMUT WITH ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 21. Depending on the timeline and/or verse, some of the muses I write range between the ages of 10-18. All of them were forced to grow up far, far too young. They've all experienced more awful things than most adults have and I think that's an important part of their story. That being said, I am still more than happy to accommodate those who do age these characters up if that's what makes you most comfortable. However, by default, I write them at their canon ages unless I have reason to adjust.This blog contains POTENTIALLY TRIGGERING AND MATURE CONTENT—Horror, torture, violence, gore, body horror, mentions of various kinds of abuse, ect. With newly added muses from the Grishaverse, other mature themes include underage sex work, underage rape, slavery, genocide and detailed descriptions of decomposing corpses. The former two don't be roleplayed, but it will be mentioned and written about, as they're prevalent to a character's backstory. It Happened and I'm not gonna shy away from it. I do my best to tag triggers ( usually cw; trigger and tw; trigger ) but if there's anything specific you need me to tag, just ask!!

03. plotting / depth:

As of recently, I'm making it an OFFICIAL RULE that I do not do one liners or text message threads. Single para threads are unlikely, but not completely ruled out. These usually offer very little substance for me and I can't maintain interest or motivation for them.I am very inclined towards plotting as all of the muses I have ( original and canon ) tend to be very layered and complicated. I also just very much enjoy NUANCE AND DEPTH. I love sending / receiving memes though and I tend to be inclined to plot around them. This means if you send a meme, there may be a chance I'll shoot you a message to share my thoughts and ideas, ask about things, ect. I am someone who loves DIVING DEEP into portrayals and research and I am DEEPLY PASSIONATE about the muses I write, their worlds and their dynamics. If any of these things are too overwhelming for you and you're ONLY inclined towards one liners or one para responses and the like, this may not be the blog for you and that's perfectly okay. Just please be aware of this for the both of us so we don't have to endure unnecessary discomfort on either side.MUTUALS, PLEASE FILL OUT MY INTEREST TRACKER HERE.
Also, I understand that some folks are Particular about it and it can make others anxious but literally, it doesn't bother me in the slightest if you don't have interest in a muse, even if that muse is an OC. It's seriously no big deal. I love ALL of my muses with my whole heart and I am just happy to write with you, no matter what muses you vibe with. PLEASE don't worry about it!!

ABOUT DIALOGUE; I strive to write it to emulate real life conversations, which means my muse very well may not respond to everything yours says. I usually shoot for having my character react to the last chunk of dialogue first and then, depending on the character and the conversation, have them work their way back to any previous things they feel the need to acknowledge. I notice a lot of people write their muses responding to all dialogue in order and ... while I can work with it to a certain extent, I have my limits with it.I would hope writing with me may inspire people to change that, but everyone has Their Way of doing things and I respect it.

04. things i don't put up with:

TERFS/RADFEMS/TRANSMEDS, transphobia, homophobia, passive aggressive behavior, vague blogging, callout / purity culture, mob mentality, harassment / suicide baiting, ect. I DO NOT CARE WHAT YOUR REASONS ARE, THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

I firmly believe that fiction =/= reality and that people can write literally whatever they want as long as they are not actively forcing anything on other people ( and NO, them JUST EXISTING does not fucking count as forcing it on or actively hurting others, period ). As long as everyone involved are consenting adults, it's none of anyone's business. If people give warning and/or tag their shit, it is 1000% YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to curate your own experience and keep yourself safe. It is not my job, nor is it the job of strangers on the internet, to do any of that for you. Sorry, But Not Sorry. If you post ANY of the things on this list or hold any of the views that I don't tolerate, it is an absolute instant hard block. I do not have the bandwidth for this shit y'all, I am exhausted.ANON IS OFF AND IT WILL STAY OFF. Sorry for any shy beans, but my trust and good will has been broken in that regard.
For headcanon posts, meta, drabbles, ect. I turn off the reblog options. I only turn it back on if I want to reblog it for some reason and then turn it off again. I don't want personal blogs or anyone else reblogging things like that ( there's always exceptions for that ofc but that's just the general rule ).

05. formatting and graphics:

I use 540x100 icons ( 100x100 icon with blockquotes and other fancy stuff, which I designed myself ), banners, separators and small text, that’s pretty much it, aside from some bold, italics and underline for flare. It doesn't bother me at all if you don't use icons, I will follow suit in our threads. All I ask is folks use small text when writing with me.My icons and graphics are all made by me, although the coloring PSD I use for my icons comes from poohsources. I just make some slight adjustments here and there. I also use selective color presets that were made by my good friend glitchkingdesign. If you're looking to commission someone for rp graphics, I couldn't recommend King more, she's amazing!!!
ALL OF MY ICONS AND GRAPHICS ARE FOR MY USE ONLY.However, I do make graphics and icons for friends who want / need / or ask for it, so you'll definitely see stuff I make floating around if we have a lot of the same mutuals.

06. following / unfollowing / mutuals:

I am PRIVATE, HIGHLY SELECTIVE AND MUTUALS ONLY, which is just an extensive way of saying that 1. I'm very picky, as I said above and 2. I only write with those who are in a mutual follow with me. I only allow mutuals to send me messages and reply to my posts as well. This is for my own comfort and peace of mind. If I don't return your follow, there's various reasons for why that could be; I can't see a way for our muses to interact, I'm unfamiliar with and not interested in the fandom / muse(s) you're writing ( although just because I'm unfamiliar does not automatically mean I'm not interested !! ), I don't think our writing styles will mesh well, the way you run your blog doesn't vibe well for me … ect. Any of these reasons could also be why I unfollow you.Some big reasons I unfollow people are; consistent and excessive ooc, way more than any actual writing, ONLY writing one liners or threads / memes that are barely a paragraph, consistently reblogging memes ( especially the same ones over and over ... ) nearly every single day, consistent negativity towards source material ... ect. To reiterate, I'll only unfollow if this is CONSISTENT AND INDEFINITE.Lastly, if you're someone who impulsively muse/blog hops, please save me the headache by not following me, I beg you. IT DOES NOT WORK FOR ME and, in fact, I find it EXTREMELY frustrating. I have unfollowed / hard/soft blocked people after trying keep up with them. I don't like doing it, it sucks for both parties, but I won't hesitate to do it if there's no end in sight. I want to write with people who are CONSISTENT AND RELIABLE and I think that's a very reasonable thing for me to ask for.

It doesn't mean I've decided NEVER to follow, just means I need more info before I do. I will go back to check semi-frequently, hoping to see more. I need to know what I'm getting into BEFORE I follow, THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT THE RULES ARE FOR. People not having rules or muse info is becoming more frequent and it's leaving me with A LOT of frustration tbh. 07. shipping:

I SHIP CHEMISTRY—but a ton of the characters I write are somewhere on the ASEXUAL and/or AROMANTIC spectrum, otherwise extremely guarded, traumatized, or all of the above. Shipping will require extensive plotting and will take time. However, assuming we've discussed things at length and we're both comfortable, I'm very much down to jump around in the timeline. Also, muses of ALL GENDERS are welcome, as long as there's chemistry and attraction of some kind. I am also obviously open to relationships that are fuzzy / blurry / inbetween romantic and platonic or something else entirely.Poly ships ARE NOT my cup of tea though, so I don't write them, but I support those who do, of course.A couple of my muses have mild to severe TOUCH AVERSION for trauma-related reasons, so shipping with them will be complicated. I will say in regards to Loki that I definitely used to write Thorki back in the day and it's a big influence on my portrayal still. Regardless, I can easily make adjustments for my partners in order to respect their comfort and boundaries. And OBVIOUSLY I don't condone incest in real life, duh. Common sense.

08. communication:

I strive to be an HONEST AND OPEN person about things, even when doing so is difficult or a little scary. If I'm upset with you for any reason, I will seek you out to let you know and talk things out with you. You never have to worry about whether or not I'm hiding things from you or anticipate my thoughts or feelings; those are MY responsibility. If I'm not feeling a thread / need to drop a thread / am having trouble with a reply of yours, anything like that, I WILL TELL YOU. I would very much appreciate the same courtesy and I promise you, I will be patient, kind and understanding with you. Life is a whole lot easier when we're honest and compassionate with each other imo. PLEASE don't be afraid to tell me things or bring up problems. I admit when I'm wrong and I'm always striving to be better.I LOVE making friends with my writing partners, so that's the angle I'm coming from. I tend to be a warm and affectionate person and I do my best to be mindful of the feelings of others as well as their boundaries.

09. literacy:

We all have our spelling and/or grammar mistakes every now and then, but if this happens FREQUENTLY in your writing, that's something I can't deal with. If your flow, grammar and sentence structure is wonky to me, I very likely WILL NOT follow you. This happens sometimes with people who write English as their second language and, if this is the case, I am genuinely sorry — but I'm here to HAVE FUN and Working With That is not at all fun for me. I wish you the best nonetheless.

BACKSTORY:

Nathan met his best friend BEN VAZQUEZ in college where they both were studying to become software engineers. They quickly became INSEPARABLE and shortly after graduating, they founded a tech company AZTECH. Ben was the face of the company while Nathan preferred to remain BEHIND THE SCENES, out of the spotlight. A few years later, FAR into their success, they'd gone on vacation together numerous times, but THIS TIME would be the last one where Nathan would see his friend alive.They went to the CARIBBEAN ISLANDS where they did a lot of swimming, snorkeling and diving, which was VERY common for them, especially since Nathan had a particular love of the ocean. However, just before dusk settled in, Ben was lured by his natural curiosity into the darker depths of the water. By the time Nathan went to follow him, it was already TO LATE. Still to this day, despite everything he has learned, Nathan struggles to find the words to describe THE CREATURE he saw with his own eyes. In a blind attempt to save his friend, Nathan got severely injured by the creature.

BEN WAS NEVER SEEN ALIVE AGAIN.Nathan didn't know HOW he'd made it to shore, nor HOW LONG it had taken someone to come to his rescue, but somehow he made it out alive. When he was found, he couldn't walk and he was drifting in and out of consciousness so he was taken to a hospital. Nathan suffered a LOWER BACK AND SCIATIC NERVE INJURY, which meant he had to undergo two invasive surgeries in order to have a chance at getting strength and feeling back in his legs and feet. It would take him months to heal and he would adopt the use of a cane, but he managed to REGAIN his ability to walk again. However, he would be forced to live with CHRONIC NERVE PAIN for the rest of his life.He TRIED to explain what had happened, but his story was so strange and outlandish that they blamed his disoriented story on the EXTREME TRAUMA he must have experienced. It was ruled as a SHARK ATTACK with one fatality and one severe injury, despite Nathan's assertion that what they'd encountered WAS NOT a shark. He'd begun to doubt himself, but someone who claimed to be a doctor got wind of Nathan's claims and sought him out one evening while he was still recovering in the hospital.His name was DOCTOR JACK ASHFORD and, while he validated Nathan's claims, he warned him off of persisting with his story as well as seeking answers. Ashford explained that, while there were different types, overall the creature he'd seen was connected to THE UNDARK. The type he'd experienced was called THE DEEP, as it usually consisted of creatures that lurked within the deepest depths of the ocean as well as underground.Naturally, Nathan asked HOW he knew all of this, but ... all he'd received was a faint smile, an apology for his loss and for the pain he'd suffered .... and suddenly, he was alone again. Nathan never saw the man again and, when he asked his doctor about it, she'd said she didn't have a colleague by that name. His explanation was once again attributed to his trauma and, this time, Nathan didn't protest ... well, not OUT LOUD, anyway.Once Nathan was as RECUPERATED as he could be, he used his low profile within the company to his advantage; he HIRED SOMEONE to claim they were the secret co-founder the whole time and to APPEAR to take over for Ben. Nathan monitors the man and, while he has as much control as he needs to ensure things are run the way he and Ben wanted, Nathan puts most of his focus ELSEWHERE. He goes on to open a bookstore called ARCANE BOOKS & TOMES. While he does buy and sell books, he gradually becomes something of an UNOFFICIAL ARCHIVIST who focuses on THE UNDARK ... and in doing so, he discovers the man who spoke to him had been doing the same thing before him ... but he'd died under mysterious circumstances. He finds all of the left over information and it gives him somewhere to begin.Now Nathan seeks out those who have experienced these entities, striving to get AS MUCH INFORMATION about the Undark as possible ... especially once he begins to show signs of otherworldly powers. AZRA is the first only other person he meets with abilities tied to the entities he studies, although his is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Nathan's. He hears about him through word-of-mouth, that he has centuries upon centuries of artefacts and knowledge that Nathan doesn't — and so, the CONNECTIONS BEGIN.

POWERS & SKILLS:

HYDROKINESIS: The psychic ability to control and manipulate water and liquid a will.
—Sea life manipulation: He also has the ability to influence and manipulate the various types of life in the sea ... but it draws the UNWELCOME attention of The Deep if he is doing so within the ocean or near it, which can have dire consequences.
—Aquatic breathing: Nathan is able to breathe under water when necessary, which means he can shift between breathing air vs. breathing underwater at will.CONTRIVED DROWNING: Able to make someone fully believe they're drowning, to the point where their body reacts as if it were actually happening, without touching them. He can kill someone this way without a trace if necessary.CAMOUFLAGE: After his injury, Nathan gains the ability to blend in with his surroundings, whether that be making his entire body translucent OR simply blending into whatever is in the background.COMPUTER & ENGINEERING EXPERT: Adept at coding, hacking, software and mechanical engineering, ect.ENCRYPTION, DECRYPTION & CODE CRACKING: Able to create and decrypt various coded messages.GENIUS LEVEL INTELLECT & MEMORY: Able to learn and retain various amounts of information extremely quickly.HIGH PAIN TOLERANCE: Due to his lower back and sciatic nerve injury, Nathan has developed a very high pain tolerance.

AZRA IBN AL-SANNA has no strictly permanent residence, aside from the ships he works on. He is a man born of THE UNDARK, but only half. Specifically, he is tethered to THE RAVAGE, which consists of any and all RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL.

Azra was born in Pakistan in the 1200’s from the union of HUMAN AND UNDARK His father’s name was Jibril and, after a night with a woman who'd enchanted him, he’d been left with a child to raise. A child who emitted radiation, unbeknownst to anyone. It was a small enough amount that Azra's father survived, but more and more symptoms of RADIATION POISONING piled on over time and he eventually became DEATHLY ILL. He passed quickly after that and Azra, at thirteen years old, honored his father the Hindu way before burning his body.It was only AFTER Azra had to go further out into the world to make a living that he began to make connections. Everywhere he went, people died in ways that were STRANGE, unexplainable and their decline was rapid once they reached the point of no return. He effected some people much, MUCH faster and most of the time that was because of PHYSICAL CONTACT. There were also ties to his thoughts and emotional state of being — Azra had never been one for displays of strong emotion in comparison to other people, so it wasn't difficult to CONTROL that.However, as he began to make connections, OTHER PEOPLE DID TOO. Before long, some people deemed him cursed, someone who brought death and suffering in his wake.Azra became rather ISOLATED from there on out. For a while, he made a living by PAINTING, as his father had before him, and then he worked on ships transporting goods. He stopped physically aging at THIRTY-NINE. Once he came across tales of the Undark, he believed he saw a way to find where he came from and what he was. Perhaps he also sought to rid himself of the CURSE that had seemed to envelop him since he was a boy. While he dabbles in many, many things, his main focus is on SUPERNATURAL ARTEFACTS connected to the Undark.Around the time he reaches the 2020's, Azra hears rumors about a man who STUDIES the Undark and strives to ARCHIVE the information he gleans — he didn't pay the rumors too much mind at first, as those tethered to the Undark he'd sought out over the years had either died or lost their minds entirely. This man, Nathan Bennett, FINDS HIM, however and it provides Azra with the first real spark of HOPE for answers that he's had in his long life.

POWERS & SKILLS:

IMMORTALITY / RAPID REGENERATION: Azra is and always has been immortal; he can regenerate and heal any injuries or destruction inflicted upon him incredibly rapidly.RADIATION POISONING / EXPOSURE: Azra has the ability to expose and poison his surroundings with radiation. After years upon years of trial and error, he has control over how much and for how long. The various symptoms can range from mild to severe and can last for hours, days, months or years upon years.

BACKSTORY:

ELENA THATCHER'S life was FOREVER CHANGED around the age of thirty-five. Elena studied ANTHROPOLOGY and was hoping to become an anthropologist; however, she began her career as an anthropology ASSISTANT. It was a mistake she hadn't known to avoid making — how could she have known, really? Elena had seen her fair share of fungi, she enjoyed mushrooms on her pizza, in her pasta and she thought NOTHING of the strange fungi in one of the tombs they were excavating. In fact, she hadn't even NOTICED THEM until she had to clear them away to dig where she was directed to.THAT WAS WHEN THE FUNGI INFECTED ELENA WITH ITS SPORES.It had seemed like nothing but a puff of dust rising into the air from the dirt ... but as she went throughout the day, Elena became more and more DISORIENTED. It was truly a miracle that she'd made it home before blacking out completely. She'd been too out of it to be truly, DEEPLY scared, but THE UNDARK made its home deep inside of its human host, shifting and changing the things about her it INFECTED. When she managed to wake the next day, to say going into work was not an option would've been an understatement.Elena experienced nausea, vomiting, a migraine that lasted a couple days and she experienced HALLUCINATIONS as well. Once she reached the third day, however, her sickness passed and she began to feel ... more like herself, but very much Not at the same time. Every ounce of fear she'd experienced, whether it was from the sickness that had overtaken her or simpler things, such as seeking approval from those she worked with .... it was just. GONE. Elena understood her role in the universe for the first time, experiencing a sense of PURPOSE. LOKI was born as a Frost Giant, a son of Laufey, but he was abandoned to die due to his much smaller size. He was found by Odinn after the Aesir defeated the Frost Giants, whom they'd been at war with as the Frost Giants intended to enslave the human race whilst causing another ice age. Odin raised Loki has his own son by using magic to alter his natural appearance. The nature of Loki's birth was kept a secret from both him and his adopted brother, Thor. His brother was practically a direct contrast to Loki; he was strong, the GOLDEN CHILD, in fact, which meant he could practically do no wrong. Loki's love for Thor was so intense that it could likely destroy worlds; and yet, along side it came that twisted hatred, that envy. For Thor was everything Loki could never be and he hated him for it.He always had trouble connecting to those around him, for he was so different from them; thus, as he grew into adolescence, attempts to fit in with his peers became few and far in-between. Loki focused his attention on his studies and his training with one-handed weapons and seiðr. His mother Figga passed on her skill in seiðr and of the blade to him in an attempt to provide Loki with his own equal power, despite what he lacked. However, he was often plagued by dark thoughts, thoughts of cruelty to inspire RESPECT AND FEAR from those he envied, those who were everything Loki was not. Eventually due to his often mean-spirited tricks, his mischievous nature and his lies, Loki became known as a God of Mischief, liesmith and as the CONTRIVER OF ALL FRAUD.This hatred and envy had begun to boil over with Thor's coronation drawing near. Thor was arrogant and reckless, traits that would no doubt make him unfit to be a King—however, it seemed as though Thor could still DO NO WRONG, which meant Loki had enough of an excuse to sabotage the coronation.It began with a subtle trick, allowing the Frost Giants a way into Asgard, riling Thor up enough to march to Jotunheim with thoughts of revenge ; all the while, LOKI secretly told the guard to inform Odin of their intentions, so that he would stop the catastrophe.

Thor made his way back to Asgard, intent on STOPPING Loki. When his attempts to reach him failed, Thor was left with no choice but to DESTROY the Bifrost, stranding himself on Asgard and saving Jotunheim from destruction. The Allfather awoke from the Odinsleep, triggered by the destruction of the bridge. He tried to save both of his sons from falling into the radioactive black hole created by the Bifrost’s destruction, but….upon Odin’s vocal rejection of Loki's pleas for approval in his actions, he let go, allowing himself to fall.Falling into the portal would have killed most; it should have torn Loki to pieces or, because of the immense density, crushed him to death, or perhaps both. The portal was unstable to say the least and full of extremely dangerous and destructive dark energy. He managed to survive the fall, but at the cost of a portion of his sanity. He found himself stranded in a different dimension—–a place where inhuman creatures dwelled and thrived. Nothing was particularly safe. He emerged, some of his skin and teeth already beginning to rot, muscles and bones strained and almost crushed from the pressure, hardly able to breath let alone move. It took several days before he could even consider attempting to stand. Loki had to learn to protect himself ruthlessly, moreso than he ever could have learned in Asgard. With the help of his rumored skill in word manipulation and lying, Loki gained allies and he eventually took to exploring other dimensions and universes, this time with enough knowledge to protect himself. All the while, he kept himself hidden from Thor, Heimdall, Odin and Frigga via Seiðr so that there was NO possibility of anyone finding him—–at least, finding him without Loki’s knowledge.

It would also illustrate exactly how truly unfit for the crown Thor would be. However, Odinn did not make it in time to prevent Thor from provoking WAR ... nor to prevent Loki's accidental discovery of his true parentage.As punishment for Thor's actions, he was banished to Earth, stripped of his power—the harshness of it not initially anticipated. When Loki later confronted Odinn about his parentage, he wearily fell into a deep "Odinsleep" to recover his strength. Loki ruled in his place and crafted a plan; he promised Laufey the opportunity to kill Odin while vulnerable in the Odinsleep (and while Thor was exiled) , but his true goal was to use Laufey's attempt on the Allfather's life as an excuse to destroy Jotunheim and PROVE himself as a worthy son of Odinn. To keep Thor away, Loki spun the LIE that Odinn had died and Thor was to be permanently exiled; however, the warrior's three informed Thor of Loki's lie and, upon sacrificing his now mortal life to protect the humans he'd learned from and befriended, Thor's Godly powers returned to him.

Any safety and security he’d thought he found was ripped out from under him once he found Thanos ( aka The Other) after hearing that he possessed an infinity gem. Again with his skill of tongue, Loki convinced Thanos to entrust him with the gem and an army in order to enslave the human race, to rule them as the God he desperately wanted to believe he was, and to ruin Thor’s potential rule. Not to mention, an easy way to escape this hellscape. Despite his agreement, Thanos and those who would be apart of the promised army, the Chitauri, ensured that Loki only traded one hellscape for another. Thanos did not trust Loki entirely, so to ensure his loyalty, Thanos implemented fear and pain through torture. Loki was barely able to make the torture stop by manipulating his captors into thinking that they had broken him entirely. Shortly after gaining the infinity gem, Loki found Erik Selvig and, with the aid of the mind gem, spent a year using mind control to force him into building trans-dimensional doors with which Loki needed in order to travel to Earth without being seen by Heimdall’s allsight. Loki thought he had learned how to defend himself within all foreign realms. In this case, he was wrong.The plot for the Avengers followed; once Loki was ready to launch his attack upon Midgard, he opened a portal to bring the Chitauri, his army and his tormentors, to war. Despite these obstacles, The Avengers crushed Loki’s attempt at ruling Midgard as a God—–Natasha, Black Widow, was the one to close the gaping portal created by the tesseract. Loki was prepared to be taken back to Asgard by Thor, via the tesseract (which was intended to be used to repair the Bifrost) and he'd planned to bring Loki before Odin in chains.HOWEVER, immediately after seizing the Tesseract as a result from the actions of time-displaced Avengers, Loki was ARRESTED by the Time Variance Authority for creating a branched timeline and was taken into their headquarters. The TVA sentenced Loki to be pruned, but with the intervention of Agent Mobius, he was instead taken into a time theater for interrogation. While initially Loki contemplated the concept of his own free will in a predetermined timeline, Mobius showed him his intended future in the Sacred Timeline. It included his role in the death of FRIGGA, which shook Loki to his very core. He also later also discovered more of his future, namely his strengthened bond with Thor to Loki’s DEATH at the hands of Thanos, his tormentor.Loki is then RECRUITED by Mobius to aid in the attempt to capture another rogue Loki variant. He constantly toes the line between potential redemption OR repeating the cycles every single version of himself are evidently fated to repeat for eternity.

POWERS & ABILITIES:

CLOSE RANGE COMBAT: Not only is Loki one of the most powerful sorcerers in Asgard, he is also incredibly skilled in close range combat either with weapons or with just hand-to-hand combat ( although he doesn’t typically use hand-to-hand combat because he is physically weaker than other Asgardian warriors ). He generally uses one-handed weapons such as daggers and / or one handed swords. He is incredibly physically strong for his lithe body type; he is also able to use ordinary objects as weapons if necessary, although due to Loki’s paranoid nature, he is scarcely ever without a weapon hidden on his person.SHAPE SHIFTING / GLAMOUR: Loki is able to alter his physical appearance; he normally uses it for impersonating others. He’s able to gain the basic natural abilities inherent in each form he takes. He also uses it to change into his female form if necessary ( or simply if he feels like it ).SUPER HUMAN STAMINA: Due to his Frost Giant metabolism, Loki’s levels of physical stamina provide him the ability to exert himself at peak capacity for roughly 24 hours before fatigue begins to set in; however, he can temporarily manipulate his stamina, just as he can do with his physical strength and durability.SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY: The tissue of Loki’s body is extremely durable and about equal to that of an average Asgardian—however, he can use certain magical abilities that enable him to withstand injuries that would kill another Asgardian.HEALING: Like all Asgardians, Loki is capable of being injured, though his metabolism enables him to rapidly regenerate damaged tissue faster and more extensively than a mortal. Although, due to his use of sorcery, Loki’s ability to heal himself is far more extensive than that of other Asgardians. He can reattach severed limbs and even his head at least once. However, he struggles with the ability to heal others.ASTRAL PROJECTION: The ability to project his thoughts and “essence” over astronomical distances and even through dimensions; this is generally used for communication and information gathering. He can’t read the minds of those he uses it on but he can influence their actions via hypnosis; however, he cannot force someone to do something that is against their nature.ILLUSION CASTING: Projecting fantastic images that seems incredibly life like that they fool even the mightiest of sorcerers. His illusions are only limited to his imagination & what he can briefly get from other peoples’ minds from his brief telepathy. Any injuries inflicted by the illusions will vanish once it’s gone. With Loki’s full power, he can fool an entire city into believing what he creates is real. This ability also allows Loki to make himself INVISIBLE TO OTHER PEOPLE.TELEPORTATION: One of Loki’s very favorite of his abilities. He can travel basically anywhere with ease. Useful for getting out of confined spaces or simply getting somewhere faster.COLD MANIPULATION: Because Loki is a Frost Giant, he is able to generate a mystic frost. In his Frost Giant form, he can choose to give someone frostbite simply by touching them with any part of his body.TRAVELING THROUGH RIFTS / DIMENSIONS: Loki has the ability to magically create rifts for himself and others as well as objects to travel through dimensions and the universe.

KAZ RIETVELD had been nine years old when his father was crushed to death beneath a plough, leaving him and his thirteen year old brother JORDIE to fend for themselves. Jordie made the decision to sell their farm and take Kaz to the capital of Kerch, KETTERDAM, where he'd intended to enroll Kaz in school. They stayed in a boarding house while Jordie searched for a job, but consistently came up empty handed. It wasn't until they met a boy named Fillip selling wind-up dogs that Jordie was finally able to find work as a runner for a mercher named JAKOB HERTZOON.He owned a coffee shop where Kaz would stay while Jordie worked; he had a particular fascination with MAGIC TRICKS and he spent his time there practicing. Jakob later urged the boys to invest in SUGAR STOCKS, which resulted in a large payout. They believed things were looking up for them, their days now filled with hope and comfort. However, it was this naive outlook that brought their RUIN shortly afterward.Hertzoon lured Jordie into investing ALL the money they had from selling the farm in the Jurda crop. Although they lived in the haze of comfort for a week, it was short lived; when it was time to RECONVENE at Hertzoon's coffee shop, they found it EMPTY AND DESERTED. It was as if nothing had existed there in the first place. They realized that Jakob Hertzoon had been running A CON—the house he'd lived in with his family too was empty, he and those who'd lived there seemingly having VANISHED into thin air.He'd TRICKED them into giving him all of their money and in turn left them COMPLETELY PENNILESS.

Kaz and Jordie were soon EVICTED from their boarding house and were forced to live on the streets of Ketterdam. They had no knowledge of the city's inner workings, of the gangs that PROWLED their terfs and were left completely vulnerable. THE RAZORGULLS in particular came after the boys for having slept in an alley behind a tavern the night before, claiming they were trespassing on their terf. Jordie received a beating and, after taking his boots, they pushed Kaz into the cannal.Then, when THE QUEENS PLAGUE swept through Ketterdam, Jordie developed a fever from the FIREPOX and Kaz followed suit two days later. It was apparent shortly afterward that firepox had taken Jordie's life sometime in the night—Kaz had been curled against his older brother's side and realized that Jordie felt wrong already, his body COLD AND HARD. Don't leave me, he'd wanted to say, but sickness and hunger rendered him too tired even for that.Presumed to be among the dead, Kaz and Jordie were loaded into the SICKBOAT and Kaz's fever left him struggling to ground himself in reality. He felt himself falling and then he was caught entangled in bodies. Kaz had tried to scream, but he was too weak. CORPSES enveloped him in various states of DECAY and Kaz drifted in and out of unconsciousness, unable to tell what was real and what was a fever dream as the boat moved out to sea.When he tumbled into the shallows of REAPERS BARGE, Kaz somehow found the strength to cry out. ❝I'm alive,❞ he shouted, putting as much force behind it as he could. However, Kaz was so small, so weak and the boat was already drifting back to the harbor. He tried to pull Jordie from the water; his body was covered in the sores that gave firepox its name and his skin was so pale, save for the various blooming bruises. Kaz lost himself in the memories they shared together, of those days spent in comfort, feeling happy and hopeful.
KAZ WAITED TO DIE, as that was better than the fever tainted nightmare he was currently living.When Kaz awoke, he was surrounded by corpses, including Jordie's body, which now was nearly UNRECOGNIZABLE with rot. His fever had broken and the rash had receded, but he was TRAPPED on Reapers Barge, weak and dehydrated and if he waited for the body men to return, Kaz would surely be dead by then. Vengeance drove him onward from there and, while he would've been too weak to swim to shore alone, he was able to use Jordie's body to float when night came, when the tide shifted in his favor.

Kaz tried not to think of Jordie, of the TIGHT, BLOATED feeling of his brother's flesh beneath his hands. Instead, he did everything in his power to focus on kicking his legs, of moving through the water and reaching the coast. It was the drive for VENGEANCE along with his RAGE and, once he'd caught sight of land, HOPE that finally brought him to shore.Kaz adopted the surname BREKKER, relinquishing his family name, and completely reinvented himself as a ruthless fighter. He worked at gambling dens on East Stave, learned to steal, to pick pockets and was sent to jail twice, joined NUMEROUS gangs in the barrel and he earned the nickname DIRTYHANDS, a name that was borne from Kaz's unflinching willingness to accept ANY JOB that needed to be done. The experience at Reapers Barge left Kaz unable to bear skin on skin contact and, after a severe panic attack, he purchased a pair of gloves that he wore at all times, only taking them off in the privacy of his own company.Eventually, he saw Jakob Hertzoon for the first time since the con and realized his real name was PEKKA ROLLINS, leader of THE DIME LIONS. The next day, Kaz joined THE DREGS and rose through the ranks rapidly, becoming an official member at twelve and a lieutenant several years later, known for his RUTHLESS precision. After his sixth arrest, Kaz was never caught by the stadwatch ever again.He put together a crew to rob the bank that had helped Pekka Rollins con him and Jordie—but he BROKE HIS LEG dropping down from the bank rooftop. The injury healed wrong and left him with chronic pain and a limp. However, he then had a cane crafted by a Fabrikator with a crows head. It became a declaration; that no part of him was not broken, that had not healed WRONG. That there too was no part of him that wasn't STRONGER for having been broken.Kaz built THE CROW CLUB from nothing and established it as the main income for the Dregs.While Kaz Brekker technically has to answer to PER HASKILL, the Dregs are loyal to him and view Kaz as the TRUE LEADER of the gang. He uses the Dregs as a means to gradually take everything from Pekka Rollins, BRICK BY BRICK, as revenge for Jordie as well as himself.

SKILLS & TALENTS:

GENIUS LEVEL INTELLECT: Kaz has an extraordinary intellect and near photographic memory, despite his young age. He joined the Dregs when he was just twelve years old and rose through the ranks at an astonishing speed. He Vastly improved the Dregs' power and reputation single-handedly through various investments and business decisions. Throughout the ages of 15-17, Kaz easily manipulated the official leader of the gang, Per Haskell, and was essentially widely considered the TRUE LEADER by the other Dregs, despite the fact that he still had Per Haskell to answer to.—Scheming: He is known for being the mastermind behind his main crew. He devices the plans, which are always extremely complex with so many layers that even those participating don't know the full scale of the plan. He is known for being several steps ahead of the game at all times and, while out-witting Kaz is absolutely possible, it IS NOT an easy task by any means and it is nearly always a short lived victory.—Puzzle Solving: He has an affinity for puzzles and, once he observes anything that could be likened to one, Kaz often CANNOT REST until he's solved it.LOCKPICKING: Kaz can pick almost any lock and he can do so within seconds.HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT: Having spent most of his childhood in the Barrel, Kaz is a very experienced fighter. He has no real technique and is known for fighting dirty, as he approaches a fight from the standpoint of doing whatever it takes to survive.
—Crows head cane: Kaz uses a cane due to an old leg injury that never healed quite right. He uses it as a weapon as well and he does so with impressive speed and skill. It's fabrikator made and specifically weighted to break bones.PICK-POCKETING: He is an expert at pick pocketing, so much so that he's able to pick the pocket of someone he's actively interacting with and they don't notice anything is amiss until Kaz is long gone.SLEIGHT OF HAND: He has a DEEP LOVE of sleight of hand that he gained as a child — over time, however, he graduated from palming coins to cards, cups, wallets and watches. A good magician wasn't much different from a proper thief. Before long, he was banned from play in every gambling hall on East Stave.CARD TRICKS: Once Kaz learns a game, it takes him mere hours to master it, and then he simply can't be beaten. He's able to remember every hand played, each bet made. He can keep track of the deal for up to five decks.DISGUISES: Kaz has a secret entrance into the wardrobe rooms of the Stadlied opera house. He gets the various disguises he needs from there and stashes the rest.ACTING: He's a skilled actor when it's necessary for a job; Kaz can easily adapt the demeanor of a guard, a sculptor, or even something as simple as shrouding his previous identity from someone he's interacted with and taking on the role of an embarrassed teenage boy.

INEJ GHAFA grew up traveling Ravka in Suli caravans with her mother, father, uncle and cousins. She was particularly skilled at WALKING THE HIGH-WIRE, doing so with bare feet. She honed this skill quickly and it was something she was known for performing, despite her incredibly young age.

When Inej was FOURTEEN, she and her family were performing at a summer carnival on the east coast near Os Kervo. Haleen was the owner of a pleasure house in Ketterdam known as THE MENAGERIE where Inej was forced to work as an INDENTURE. Haleen manipulated the indentures of all those who worked for her, prolonging their servitude indefinitely so that they could never escape their servitude.She was FORCED into sex work at an age far, far too young, where Heleen did not hesitate to PUNISH those indebted to her with physical violence. Inej had attempted to escape when she'd first arrived in Ketterdam; she'd gotten two blocks away from the Menagerie, still in her silks, before she'd been caught by Heleen's enforcer, Cobbet. He'd hauled Inej back to the Menagerie where Heleen took her into the salon where she beat her badly enough that she hadn't been able to work for a week. For the month after, Heleen had kept her in GOLDEN CHAINS, not even letting her go down to the parlor.When she'd finally unlocked Inej's shackles, Heleen had said, ❝You owe me for a month of lost income. You run again, and I'l have you thrown in Hellgate for breach of contract.❞Inej had caught her first glimpse of KAZ BREKKER when he was meeting with Heleen. He paid her for information—stock tips, political pillow talk, anything the Menagerie's clients divulged while drunk or giddy on bliss. Perhaps it had been the fact that he never visited as a client that she recklessly decided to approach him. "I can help you," she'd whispered as he'd passed her in the parlor. While Kaz Brekker had continued on his way that night as if she hadn't spoken; but the next morning, Kaz had returned to buy her indenture from Heleen and offered her the choice to join THE DREGS.

Inej joined the Dregs just days after her fifteenth birthday.Kaz had rescued her and seen her potential when NO ONE ELSE had. He'd taught her to crack a safe, pick a pocket, wield a knife. Inej became known as THE WRAITH and she is the best at what she does. She is a THIEF OF SECRETS, an assassin when necessary, although she's not particularly keen on killing. Regardless, Inej has a collection of knives that she's named after the Saints of her faith; her first knife was gifted to her by Kaz and she'd dubbed it Sankt Petyr. She is DEADLY and dangerous, wielding her knives as though she were born with claws.Inej works for the Dregs and her goal is to gradually pay off her indenture now that Per Haskell handles it fairly.

SKILLS & TALENTS:

ACROBAT: She spent the first fourteen years of her life performing in carnivals.
—Stealth: Inej moves with grace and precision. She has a particular gift for her steps and movement making no sound.
—Agility & stamina: She moves with quick precision. She can also run, climb and fight for extended periods of time, all with impressive ease.
—Climbing: With the addition of a specific pair of slippers that are Fabrikator made, Inej is able to scale more than six story buildings in any weather.
—High-wire walking: When she was an acrobat, Inej illustrated a particular gift for walking the high-wire, doing so with bare feet. On the high wire, Inej was beholden to no one, a creature without past or present, suspended between the earth and sky. Her mother had once said that those gifted with the talent were descended from the People of the Air, that they'd once had wings and sometimes they could still be seen by humans, if they possessed the wire walkers favor. To Inej, walking on the wire was akin to walking on air and there was very little she loved more.KNIFE DUEL-WIELDING: Kaz Brekker was the one who taught Inej how to wield a knife and gifted her with her first one. She names them after her Saints and she has impeccable skill with them, to the point of them feeling as though they were extensions of herself. Aside from their traditional use, Inej is also incredibly skilled at throwing knives and is easily able to hit her targets.LOCKPICKING: Inej knows how to pick locks, whether they be the locks to a safe or the locks of a door.PICK-POCKETING: While it isn't a skill she uses anywhere near as often as Kaz does, she still has impressive skill with it. She was able to steal the diamond choker around Teleen's neck when she lunged to strangle her. She did so without Teleen noticing until Inej was long gone from sight.SAILING: Post the Six of Crows Duology, Inej begins to learn how to sail. She learns navigation at sea, sail setting, tying various kinds of knots, positioning the centerboard, tracking, reading and anticipating weather conditions, learning craftsmanship and more.
—Captaining a ship: Over time, Inej learns the art of Captaining a ship. Along with the fore mentioned skills, she learns to be a schemer and a leader in her own right.

JESPER FAHEY grew up on a jurda farm in western Novyi Zem with his Kaelish father, COLM FAHEY and Zemeni mother, ADITI HILLI. Aditi was Grisha,—a Fabrikator—although she refused the term; instead, she called it ZOWA, meaning "blessed". She used her zowa for household chores and Jesper inherited the same power. His mother taught him about life on the Zementi frontier, how to shoot, and about their shared zowa. Tragically, Jesper's mother died when he was seven after using her power to save the life of another young girl who'd been poisoned. Jesper and Colm buried her under a cherry tree on the farm.SHAKEN by the death of his wife, Colm discouraged Jesper from mentioning Grisha and, once he began to Fabrikate things as a child, his father told him to keep his power hidden and to NEVER use it. However, when Jesper was ten, the family of the girl Aditi had saved offered to take him to train their abilities.

Colm fervently believed that Aditi's power had killed her, that it had taken her from them, so he'd REFUSED and slammed the door in their faces. Although he reluctantly asked if Jesper wanted to go—but, even at such a young age, Jesper felt a sense of responsibility to STAY with his father, so he opted to stay.Regardless, as Jesper aged, it became abundantly clear that the farm WAS NOT where he belonged. He left Novyi Zem when he was fifteen to attend UNIVERSITY in Ketterdam—however, it didn't take long before the lure of gambling took hold and the ADDICTION took root in Jesper quickly. He started taking on jobs for the local gangs and, after KAZ BREKKER saved him from a beating, Jesper officially joined THE DREGS.

Jesper is ALWAYS heavily in debt as he's unable to manage paying them off without acquiring new ones directly afterwards. When his father's farm began to make profit, Jesper used the farm as collateral for a loan. Much later, Wylan mentions that Jesper's gambling addiction and restlessness could be a direct result of him NOT USING HIS ABILITIES. When Grisha go extended amounts of time without using their abilities, it generally causes sickness, fatigue and a loss of appetite, which IMPLIES that Jesper's gambling addiction and restlessness are a kind of sickness.

POWERS & SKILLS:

GRISHA FABRIKATOR ( DURAST ): Jesper has the potential to manipulate glass, steel, wood, plants, stone or anything solid on a molecular level. This includes changing a soid object's shape, texture or composition. HOWEVER, Jesper remains untrained, so his abilities are extremely limited and it takes a great deal of energy and effort to use them. His LACK of using his abilities causes a seemingly endless amount of energy and restlessness, which makes him more prone to impusivity and recklessness.SHARPSHOOTER AND MARKSMAN: Jesper is an extremely talented sharpshooter and marksman. With the subconsious use of his abiities as a durast, he is able to guide and curve his bullets as well as unjam a gun without having to physically do so.

NINA ZENIK grew up in an orphanage and has no memory whatsoever of her parents. In the orphanage, she was BULLIED, but not for long. Soon enough, she discovered that she could make them suffer with a newfound power deep within her; she could calm a person's pulse or stop their heart, prevent air from entering a person's lungs and more. Soon after, Nina went onto THE LITTLE PALACE where she attended schooling to learn how to use and control her power.The Fjerdan's culture was of particular fascination to Nina, so she studied their language and culture at length. They were THE MONSTERS that wanted to eradicate all Grisha. She learned about them in hopes that, should she find herself taken by a DRÜSKELLE ( "witchhunters", Fjerdan's who hunted Grisha ), she wouldn't fear them.

A part of her also hoped that her knowledge and understanding of their culture may make some kind of difference when faced with one.However, her classes were cut short once the Ravkan Civil War began and those with her abilities were branched off in three different areas of expertise—healers, tailors or heartrenders. Nina was trained as a heartrender solider, which meant her expertise lay in CAUSING HARM. While in the Wandering Isle on a mission with Zoya Nazyalensky, Nina mistakenly wandered into a drüskelle camp, where she first met MATTHIAS HELVAR. She pretended to be a lost Kaelish girl in an attempt to prevent their suspicion, but when Matthias made a move to attack her, Nina revealed herself as a Grisha with her instinctual reaction to raise her hands, prepared to use her power.She was captured and taken aboard a ship which contained various other captured Grisha. They were to be taken to THE ICE COURT to be tried for their "crimes", but no Grisha tried at the Ice Court was ever found not guilty, as a Grisha's crime was merely EXISTING. Nina was locked in a cage and endured inhumane treatment and mocking at the hands of the guards. They only had enough food and water to keep them alive and they had no way to relieve themselves.They endured the journey in the same clothes they were captured in, which very quickly became filthy. Matthias spoke to Nina only once, where she berated him for their treatment, but she also asked for a drink of water. Shortly after, Matthias returned with a tin cup of water for her to drink and she shared it amongst the others.

One night, a VICIOUS STORM caused a shipwreck and Nina was able to use the broken handle of the water cup to cut the rope that bound her hands, helping the others do the same. They ESCAPED their cages and to this day Nina has no idea if any of the others survived.She came across Matthias who managed to survive the shipwreck as well and she SAVED HIS LIFE, keeping them both warm as they swam the icy waters in an attempt to reach the shore. To keep one another going, they taunted each other back and forth and eventually, they reached land. They later found an abandoned whaling camp and took up shelter there. Over several days, they helped each other survive and Matthias saved Nina's life once as well. Matthias admitted to liking Nina in part because of her loud, lewd and feisty nature. They GROW CLOSE and gain feelings for each other.They made it to Elling, a port settlement to the northeast of Fjerda. Nina encountered Grisha who were undercover and intended to take Matthias PRISONER, where he would be interrogated and executed. While Nina did not trust Matthias to not go after the Grisha, she didn't want him to face execution either. To PROTECT him, she told a Kerch trader that Matthias was a slaver who had captured her. Nina and Matthias were then taken to KETTERDAM in accordance with Kerch law. Nina tried to recant the charges, but couldn't without compromising Ravkan Grisha Intelligence Operations. Thus, Matthias was sentenced to imprisonment in HELLGATE.Nina stayed in Ketterdam rather than returning to Ravka, trying to find a way to get Matthias out of Hellgate. Initially, she was invited to join THE DIME LIONS by PEKKA ROLLINS, but shortly afterward, KAZ BREKKER sent Inej to offer Nina a place with THE DREGS instead.Nina works at THE WHITE ROSE as a member of the Dregs; she helps clients with their troubled minds and dabbles in tailoring. Nina is also capable of using her power to heal, but because her schooling was CUT SHORT, none of these are within her area of expertise, so she is somewhat limited in what she can do. Otherwise, she does occasional jobs with the dregs when she's needed, but mostly she uses her limited healing abilities on various gang members, given they can't see an official medik.

POWERS & SKILLS

GRISHA CORPORALNIK ( HEARTRENDER ): Nina begins as a trained Heartrender. She can manipulate the human body, namely lungs, the heart, reduce the speed of healing and influence the emotions of others. While she is not a trained healer nor a tailor, Nina dabbles in these abilities as well; with the former, she has some proficientcy with healing. Her abilities with tailoring is much more limited, but she is able to gradually alter the appearance of someone else's face.CORPSEWITCH: After taking Jura Parem in order to save herself and the Crows, Nina's Heartrender abilities are essentially "turned inside out." She can manipulate dead bodies, which includes the overall body, the bones or the slow spread of death throughout someone's body ( she can sense things like Cancer, for example ). Nina is also able to hear and actually communicate with the dead, which can provide her with information that no one else but the deceased knows.LANGUAGES: Nina has proficency in six languages, namely Ravkan ( naitive ), Shu, Kerch, Kaelish, Suli, and Fjerdan. She also has a partial understanding of Zemeni.

BACKSTORY:

LOGAN PIERCE is a self-made billionaire who originally founded a social networking site called FRENDCZAR with his closest friend from college, Justin Ogilvy. He’s shown to be eccentric, extroverted and impulsive, but exceedingly cunning and curious. Pierce loves people, he loves to be the life of the party … but later, it’s clear that he also has a longing to connect deeply to others, whether it be in friendship, business or love. Until much later, this longing to connect has him making friends with anyone and everyone, which unfortunately means his close connections end up not being in his best interest and in fact, later put him in life threatening danger.Pierce’s lawyer had planned to kill him after he found out that Pierce was planning on dropping him as his lawyer. For this reason, Reese and Finch received his number. It wasn’t until Reese actively approached Pierce ( after knocking out his security team ) that he was able to successfully keep up with him. He later followed Reese and discovered who he was working for. He found out that Finch planted a bug small enough to fit inside of his credit card and that Finch and Reese technically do not exist on any known database, which he considered to be an impressive feat.With the help of Detective Carter, Reese was able to neutralize the threat to Pierce; however, it quickly became apparent that another threat had surfaced shortly after. Justin Ogilvy devised to kill Pierce after finding out that he planned to go into business with Emily Morton, the creator behind a new social media idea called ALCHEMENTARY. Pierce’s erratic and impulsive behavior was revealed to be a calculated tactic in order to get removed as the CEO of Frendczar, to ensure that his non-compete clause would be null in void. Pierce’s number came up again and Reese was able to save him and get Justin arrested for attempted murder. After all was said and done, Pierce gave Reese a two million dollar watch, claiming it was a thank you … however, Finch crushed it to reveal that it was equip with a GPS tracking device.After SAMARITAN comes online in 2014, The Machine recruits him, as well as Joey Durban and Harper Rose, to act as another Team Machine.

While I absolutely love the show, I was not a huge fan of who they chose to play Jordie, so mine has a different fc. OBVIOUSLY he's canon divergent and my interpretation of Jordie is quite a bit darker than I've seen from others, so ... do keep that in mind.TRIGGER/CONTENT WARNING FOR:

JORDIE RIETVELD had been thirteen years old when his father was crushed to death beneath a plough, leaving him and his nine year old brother KAZ to fend for themselves. Jordie knew that he couldn't run a farm and Kaz was far too young, so he made the decision to sell it. He used the money to take Kaz to the capital of Kerch, KETTERDAM, where he'd intended to enroll him in school.They stayed in a boarding house while Jordie searched for a job, but he CONSISTENTLY came up empty handed — he was a child himself and he'd never been to a large city like Ketterdam. He was working against a clock, knowing that the money from the farm wouldn't last them forever. Jordie had never NEEDED to take care of himself to the degree he was now and, while he'd looked after his brother numerous times ... THIS WAS DIFFERENT. Kaz was reliant on him and it was a difficult responsibility, ESPECIALLY for a thirteen year old.He did his best to appear CONFIDENT and light hearted for Kaz's sake, even though his little brother was growing bored and restless from staying at home while Jordie searched. It wasn't until they met a boy named Fillip selling wind-up dogs that Jordie was finally able to find work as a runner for a mercher named JAKOB HERTZOON.He owned a coffee shop where Jordie would leave Kaz while he worked. Jakob later urged the boys to invest in SUGAR STOCKS, which resulted in a large payout. They believed things were looking up for them, their days now filled with hope and comfort. However, it was this naive outlook that brought their RUIN shortly afterward.Hertzoon lured Jordie into investing ALL the money they had from selling the farm in the Jurda crop. Although they lived in the haze of comfort for a week, it was short lived; when it was time to RECONVENE at Hertzoon's coffee shop, they found it EMPTY AND DESERTED. It was as if nothing had existed there in the first place. They realized that Jakob Hertzoon had been running A CON—the house he'd lived in with his family too was empty, he and those who'd lived there seemingly having VANISHED into thin air.He'd TRICKED them into giving him all of their money and in turn left them COMPLETELY PENNILESS.

I used to write Finch over on fatherofmachine. I may write him occasionally here, but given how extensive the information about this muse is, I'm simply going to link back to a couple pages on his single-muse carrd for further information, if folks need. There's just WAAAYY TOO MUCH to have it all fit in here, so.For a BRIEF SUMMARY: after the events of 9/11 HAROLD FINCH ( Harold Wren, at the time ) was tasked with building an artificial intelligence ( simply called “The Machine” ) that enabled the U.S. government to conduct mass surveillance in an effort to PREVENT any future acts of terror. In order to do so, The Machine has to predict all acts of potential, premeditated lethal intent and sort out the threats that are IRRELEVANT to national security.In secret, Harold Finch, with the help of an ex-CIA agent, track down these irrelevant threats to try and prevent whatever lethal intent The Machine sees. Harold is a GENIUS HACKER with unlimited funds and resources; he has many various aliases and, ultimately, whoever he was BEFORE is presumed dead. He tends to know a scary amount about whoever he’s interacting with if it’s necessary, but I can be flexible there if needed!

CURRENT OCS HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THIS UNIVERSE:

the undark verse

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS UNIVERSE IS EVER EVOLVING.

This universe is of my own creation and it's MODERN, although I'm sure I can absolutely adapt to any timeframe. Essentially, eldritch-like entities exist in the form of having some kind of bio-luminescence — and eventually, artificial luminescence, as we move into the modern age of technology. The areas in which these entities are either present in or are a part of the mysteries that already exist in our world. As a whole, they are referred to as THE UNDARK.Humans are fully capable of being INFECTED by it, although only one type requires given consent — dubious or not. The way in which one is infected depends wholly on the type of the Undark, as does the abilities or enhancements. Two consistencies between them all is BIO-LUMINESCENT BLOOD and IMMORTALITY.HOWEVER, there is about a fifty-fifty chance of someone adapting and surviving infection. The other fifty percent either results in DEATH or insanity. Those who are infected and manage to reproduce, their offspring will be born forever tethered to whatever Undark entity the parent is infected with.

For a brief summary; after the events of 9/11 HAROLD FINCH was tasked with building a system ( simply called “The Machine” ) that enabled the U.S. government to conduct MASS SURVEILLANCE in an effort to prevent any future acts of terror. Pierce is a self-made billionaire who originally founded a social networking site called FRENDCZAR with his closest friend from college, Justin Ogilvy. Justin, as well as Pierce’s lawyer, had both planned to kill him after they found out that he was planning to go into business with Emily Morton with her new social media idea and after Pierce was planning to replace his lawyer.He was saved by John Reese and Harold Finch and, after Samaritan comes online in 2014, The Machine recruits him, as well as Joey Durban and Harper Rose, to act as another Team Machine.

THE GRISHAVERSE is a universe based on the various books by Leigh Bardugo. I have read the Shadow & Bone Trilogy, the Six of Crows Duology and the King of Scars Duology. I also have The Lives of Saints, The Language of Thorns, and The Demon In The Wood graphic novel. I have read pieces of them but I haven't read them in their entirety yet.There are TWO VARIATIONS of this universe; the universe of canon events in the books and the universe of canon events in the Netflix series called Shadow & Bone. Due to the latest events of season 2, it's a lot harder to mix the two versions since their timelines and events are so drastically different. I tend to DEFAULT to book timeline / canon, but I am absolutely able to slide into show canon as well. I DEEPLY adore both versions and I'm happy to write either one of them.

GRISHA are historically considered witches. They practice something called the Small Science and are born with inherent abilities. They have been and continue to be HUNTED by DRÜSKELLE, Fjerdan's trained to eradicate all Grisha, as they believe they're a perversion of nature.Traditionally, Grisha are divided into three orders;CORPORALKI: The order of the living and the dead. Their powers are focused on manipulating the human body.ETHEREALKI: Order of summoners. Their powers are focused on summoning and manipulating natural elements.MATERIALKI: Order of the fabrikators. Their power focuses on composite minerals such as metal, glass, textiles, chemicals and glass.As of right now, my main focus is on the SIX OF CROWS DUOLOGY, which means for the most part, things are taking place largely in KETTERDAM, the capital of KERCH. The Kerch believe trade is sacred above all else, so Ketterdam is a city of trade and deal making. The MOST DANGEROUS part of the city is called THE BARREL and it's where the city's various gangs reside. KAZ BREKKER'S GANG is the main focus for the time being; they're called THE DREGS and Kaz Brekker is known as one of the most ruthless gang members in Ketterdam. He's called THE BASTARD OF THE BARREL and DIRTYHANDS, is known for taking any job that needs doing, no matter how dirty. He runs THE CROW CLUB and maintains THE SLAT, where the Dregs reside.I already have some AU ideas, but I'm open to exploring ANY and ALL AUs tbh ( within reason ) so just come talk to me!!

Some of these alternate universes were specifically plotted with BARRELCROW, so with those ones I write exclusively with their Kaz Brekker and I won't be writing with any other Kaz in these verses.
